First Measurements

For my physical activity today I walked on the treadmill for 45 minutes. When I'm on the treadmill I do the "weight loss" program that is 45 minutes with lots of short hills. I'm always amazed how sweaty I get from just walking but I think that has to do with the constant incline. Also, I won't stay on the treadmill if I don't have something that interests me so I have been re-living Lost. For Christmas my boyfriend got me the complete series of Lost mainly because I pestered him so much about it (it was the only thing I wanted). So now I have the perfect length show to watch as I walk cause each episode is about 40 minutes. I tried this with Friends but it didn't work out so well because you have to watch two episodes and when the first on is over it makes me want to get off the treadmill which obviously isn't a good thing.

Also, I have been wanting to try out Zumba dance cause it just looks like a fun way to work out. I found some cheep old DVDs on amazon and tried the first one out today. The first one said "Beginners" so I thought it was going to show me the beginning dance moves but it was just an abs, butt, thighs workout. It was 30 minutes and I didn't get a sweat going but my muscles did shake and I could see how it would help tone up. It seemed like it would be a good routine to do when I want to exercise but don't have enough time to get all sweaty and have to shower. One other thing is that I didn't realize one of the reasons I got a good deal on the DVDs was because it's half in Spanish. It's not so bad when they're counting cause it just helps me refresh my very poor Spanish skills. However, it is annoying when they have to explain everything twice and I'm just sitting waiting to get my workout on (maybe this is why I didn't get a good sweat going. I'm thinking of just trying the workout without the DVD, we'll see if that works better.
