Wii Fit
I was supposed to kick up my treadmill walk today but some of those "legitimate health issues" I mentioned before flared up. I have very bad feet, the bones grew wrong. When I was 16 years old I had foot surgery on both my feet. They moved bones around, cut tendons, and removed drilled off portions of my bone (I was awake for all this, so that was fun). The surgeries kinda mad things worse but now I don't have any insurance or money so I just have to suck it up and take the pain. You see the cushion that is normal found under the ball of your foot is not there on my feet. The cushion of my feet shifted forward so that I step down directly on bone. My left foot has been bothering me for a few days but not enough to keep me off the treadmill. Last night I hurt my right foot pretty much taking the treadmill off the menu today. I was going to do some yoga instead today but then I found the Wii Fit hiding behind the tv. I had used my sister's years ago and decided to try it again. I did feel better that I better results than my first experience. Last time my BMI was in the obese portion and I was really old, in my 60s. It was very sad. Today wasn't great but it was better. My BMI is 26, I'm only slightly in the overweight portion, and my Wii age is 36. It was a little awkward working out with a virtual person on that little board but I did really like the yoga and how it really makes you focus on your balance the whole time. I didn't really like the strength training, didn't seem to be enough. I did end up getting 40 minutes of Wii workouts but the hoola-hoop was the only one that really left me feeling anything. I think I like the Wii Fit enough to use it every day but not as my main workout. I want to use it to help keep track of my progress and improve my balance, maybe at night when I'm usually sitting doing nothing.
